Best and Worst of 2006: Jay's List
Filed under: ABC, NBC, FOX, CBS, HBO, Cable, OpEd, American Idol, Lost, The Simpsons, American Dad, Watercooler Talk, The Office, The Sopranos, South Park, MTV, Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip, Jericho Here's my opinion on best/worst lists of any given year: I love reading them and I hate writing them. It's been a lot of fun looking at what my colleagues here at TV...

King of the Hill gets a decent time slot
Filed under: FOX, Programming, The Simpsons, American Dad, Animation, King of the Hill Fox is giving King of the Hill a great lead-in: The Simpsons. The network announced that Hank and the gang are sliding back to the 8:30 pm timeslot on Sunday nights starting with the season premiere on January 28. The season premiere sounds pretty goofy. It's called "The Peggy Horror Picture Show" where Peggy befriends a woman with whom she can talk about her girl issues, such as not feeling feminine enough. Little does she know, her new friend has some issues of her own.

FOX offers free shows on Web
Filed under: Other Drama Shows, Other Comedy Shows, FOX, Industry, American Dad, Animation, Prison Break, Bones, Web FOX has become the next network to offer some of its shows online, but it's doing it a little bit differently. Rather than streaming the shows on its own site, FOX is offering them on the sites of stations the network owns, with future plans to have the shows eventually offered on affiliate sites, as well. As of right now, sites for stations in Boston, Dallas, New York, Washington DC, Orlando, Birmingham,...

American Dad gets early renewal for 2007-08 season
Filed under: FOX, Industry, Programming, American Dad, Animation Does FOX see something in this show that a lot of other people (including me) don't see? I've seen 5 or 6 episodes, and I don't find it that funny. As I've said before, I'd watch a show based around Roger the Alien with the Paul Lynde voice, but I just don't find the show that entertaining. Certainly not on the level of The Simpsons or Family Guy.
But FOX has given the green light for 22 more episodes for the 2007-08 season. In fact, the show will probably get better ratings this fall,...

Family Guy fights American Dad
Filed under: FOX, TV on DVD, American Dad, Family Guy, Animation, Games, Web Chris over at Ad Jab found this
awesome online game created to promote the arrival of American
Dad on DVD. The game is essentially set up like Street Fighter or Mortal Kombat or games of that nature, except it
pits characters from American Dad against characters from Family Guy. So, if you ever wanted to use
Stewie to kick the loving bejeezus out of Stan from American Dad, this is your chance. There's an arcade
version and a two-player version, so you can waste time and do it with...

American Dad comes back on April 23
Filed under: Other Comedy Shows, FOX, Industry, Programming, OpEd, American Dad, Animation Buried within this press release about an episode of a
show no one cares about, The War At Home, FOX casually mentions that a show at least some people care about,
American Dad, is coming back on April 23. I'm actually looking forward to it; the show's been steadily
improving since it first premiered last year, and it's a funny prelude to my Sunday at 10 viewing choice, Grey's
Anatomy. Good to see it back.
Oh, and just on a side note: I hope they bring back Patrick Stewart more
often as Stan's...

American Dad: It's Good to be the Queen
Filed under: Other Comedy Shows, FOX, OpEd, American Dad, Animation Everyone who watches American Dad knows that Stan Smith is a shallow guy.
Heck, if it was your first time watching American Dad, you'd get that in about
five minutes, because it's pounded over you head again and again and again and... You get the point, we ALL get the
point. This is my biggest problem with the show, it's like a skipping record, we just keep seeing the same thing over
and over. The occasions where the needle actually gets back on track are awesome, but the monotony is ridiculous.
Speaking of monotony, on with the show!
