  • Jason Reitman Picks His Next Juno
What does last year's most talked-about teen flick have in common with this year's most talked-about pre-teen flick? Here's a hint: A director and an actress. Yes, Juno director Jason Reitman has finally chosen the female lead for his follow-up flick Up in the Air -- based on Walter Kim's (Thumbsucker) 2001 novel -- and he's chosen none other than Anna Kendrick. Who? Oh wait, I forgot to put this next to her name: Twilight actress Anna Kendrick.

The Hollywood Reporter tells us that Kendrick, who played one of Bella's friends in the poetic vamp tale, beat out other actresses like Emily Blunt and Juno herself, Ellen Page. Go figure!...

  • Bored At Work? Listen To A Movie!

This is a very cool little tool, especially for those of you movie nerds stuck in cubicles all day long with nothing but the latest hipster wannabee music to listen to. A good friend of mine just sent over a link to this site called Listen To A Movie, which boasts right on its main page that it's "For The Cubicle Workers Of The World." Essentially, it's exactly as it sounds: There's literally hundreds of films that you can just listen to. Not only that, but some of them even give you the option to also listen to that film's commentary! Does it get any better?

    Once you click on...

  • 'Adventureland' Trailer (or Kristen Stewart Stars in a Film Not Called 'Twilight')

I bet you were sitting around today wondering what the director of Superbad was up to, right? That was you, right? Well, good news is Greg Mottola has been finishing up a new film called Adventureland, and based on this hilarious new trailer (which just premiered over at Rotten Tomatoes), it's got an '80s Dazed and Confused vibe written all over it ... and me likey Dazed and Confused very much.

Starring Jesse Eisenberg, Bill Hader, Kristen Wiig (the new comedic love of my life), Ryan Reynolds and Kristen Stewart (OMG, what's Bella doing in another film?!), Adventureland takes place in 1987and follows an awkward kid straight...

  • Timothy Olyphant is 'Crazies'!
If the crazies were to come back and lead to wide-spread bouts of insanity, who would you want to save you? You might say Ben Affleck, since he was "the bomb in Phantoms, yo." Or maybe Joseph Whipp's Sheriff Burke from Scream. But what about the sequel's baddy? (And if that spoils it for you, you were never really intent on seeing Scream 2.)

The Hollywood Reporterposts that Timothy Olyphant has signed on toplay sheriff in the remake of George Romero's The Crazies, which Scott blogged about earlier this year. The under-the-radar film focuses on the people of a small Kansas town "who are beset by death and insanity after...

  • Fan Made: 'Twilight' Cookies

No doubt this weekend will yank tons of girls (and some boys) away from their Facebook pages and into the sometimes comfortable surroundings of a darkened movie theater for a screening (or three) of the new film Twilight. And because you parents out there would love to make this weekend a special one for your Twilight-obsessed children, Cinematical is here with some help (babysitting is extra -- talk to Weinberg and Snider after this post). Cinematical reader Nicole sent us a note and a link to her tasty-looking Vampire Cookies recipe, which, according to her, started off as something to make for Halloween and then were a huge hit for a...

  • Mila Kunis Falls for 'Eli'
No, I'm not talking about Eli Stone, although that would certainly be twist. The Hollywood Reporter posts that Mila Kunis has signed on to Denzel Washington's upcoming The Book of Eli. Set in the future, the film focuses on a lone hero named Eli (Washington) who treks across the ravaged lands of America trying to save a sacred book that could save the future of humanity.

Gary Oldman signed on last month to try and get the text for himself, and now Kunis will join the action as Solara, a woman who is tapped to betray Eli, but then joins him on his quest. If we get one more big comedy...

  • Review: Twilight -- Eric's Take

Look, I know the drill. If any element of the Twilight movie varies even slightly from the way you pictured it in your head, then it is the worst film ever made and you hate it and Catherine Hardwicke has ruined your childhood. Or, alternatively, you've built up so much anticipation for the movie that you're going to love love LOVE it no matter what, even if it's bad, you don't care, you refuse to listen to any criticisms LA LA LA I CAN'T HEAR YOU. I know how it goes.

The book's most devoted fans are seeing the film anyway, so I guess I'm talking to everyone else -- those...

  • 'Oldboy' Remake Apparently Not Actually a Remake
Those of us who were in a moderate panic following the news of a planned Steven Spielberg-Will Smith remake of Chan-wook Park's singularOldboy can rest a tiny bit easier. According to Will Smith, who's out and about promoting Seven Pounds, the film is in the works -- but it's not a remake after all. Film School Rejects has the money quote:

"We're looking at [Oldboy] right now. Not the film though, it's the original source material. There's the original comics of Oldboy that they made the first film from. And that's what we're working from, not an adaptation of the film."

I'm not sure it makes that much of a difference;...
